Arriving at Amicalola Falls

My SIL drove me from her house in PA to Amicalola State Park. We are staying in the lodge for 2 nights as I finalize last minute logistics (like getting this blog started!) She is off enjoying horseback riding and a zip line adventure while I write for you!

We arrived with beautiful weather and a beautiful view! This is from the deck of the lodge.

And, we have a room with a view!

Here I am registering my thru-hike with my pack on.

The mandatory picture of me standing in the arch. I will confess, that after this picture, my SIL took the pack in the car back up to the lodge.

Meanwhile, I hiked these stairs (all 604)!

Tomorrow I begin the real journey – pack and all!

  3. Ann, you have not started and I am exhausted just by looking at the 604 stairs. I guess I would have been a terrible companion…. jokes aside; your excitement is contagious and I am rooting for you.
    Place is gorgeous.

  4. I wonder if you have a mobile phone you could share your location constantly …I think with google maps or other app. Also you could keep us informed on the mileage you cover per day….some friends of .one have done that when they go jogging to make everyone else feel guilty

  8. Best of Luck! It’s a very exciting challenge and something that most every camper says that they would like to do. Much easier to glorify from the comfort of my setting vs. taking those first steps to a commitment of months of endurance, beauty, enlightenment and hardship. You go girl!
